look at the filename of the photo of mr. and mrs. bush.

They fixed it so check out this snapshot I took:

This from one of my pre-frosh friends at Tech: (possitively brilliant)

16 Reasons Why God Never Received Tenure At A University

1.  He had only one major publication.

2.  It was in Hebrew.

3.  It had no references.

4.  It wasn't published in a refereed journal.

5.  Some even doubt he wrote it himself.

6.  It may be true that he created the world, but what has he done
since then?

7.  The scientific community can't replicate his results.

8.  His cooperative efforts have been quite limited.

9.  He never got permission from the ethics board to use human
subjects.

10.  When one experiment went awry, he tried to cover it up by
drowning the subjects.

11. When subjects didn't behave as predicted, he deleted them from
the sample.

12. He rarely came to class and just told students, "Read the Book."

13. Some say he had his Son teach the class.

14. He expelled his first two students for learning.

15. His office hours were irregular and sometimes held on a
mountaintop.

16. Although there were only 10 requirements, most students failed
his tests.

Recently I have been investing more and more time into simply reading all the emails sent out over the Caltech c/o 2008 mailing list.  (It has reached to the 20 messages/hour mark).  Being a, predominantly, nerd mailing list it has come up with several ... interesting ... threads.  These threads range from reminiscent posts describing how Magic: The Gathering used to be such a great game but the new rules ruined it, to ethical stances on file/music/movie sharing (each of these topics and all between have been passionately debated leading to so many messages).  But one of the most bizarre was the sudden and unexpected interjection by a member who was discusted at an earlier posts mention of "sexual positions."  He went into quite a fit and used a lot of poorly reasoned arguements and mentionings about how his 4 year old daughter shouldn't have to see things like that and he was discusted at the group for discussing it.  In his most reacent post he discribes how it is that such a devoutly religious and anti-pre-marital-sex 19 year old has a 4 year old daughter:
Unfortunately, my past sex positions weren't so pious.  I always ask myself WWJD, but Jesus was only a man, and condoms sometimes break and girls are sometimes Catholic.  This really tested my faith, but two years later God reentered my life when he bitch-slapped me with a second girl.  I have repented and married the mothers of my children.  If I ever have sex again, I swear to Joseph Smith's soul, it will have to be with another wife.

I think that this really describes my political thinking (though I am pondering TKO's proposal):

PS. you don't really have to read the whole site if you're a lazy son-of-a-bitch (like me), the url kinda explains it.

PPS.  BTW, I am sill alive, dispite rumors

PPPS. However, I did get my digital camera stolen by a Bald Croatian Pothead in a Christian Youth Hostel in Amsterdam called the Shelter.

If any of you venture to London there are two things that you simply must do (I did them both today and it has been the most wonderful day).

First you must go to the Camden street market. This is positively the greatest market I have ever been to. From crazy Brits hawking every type of food from stir fry to orange juice to the Palm readers and all the other zany and wonderful shops between this is simply to die for. It is a huge market housed within the curved alleys and picturesque rooms of a medieval castle (or fort or whatever). The place is so big that you could not hope to visit every single shop in a day and even if you had the time you'd probably loose track of where you'd been because it is the least linear array you could imagine, alleys curving back on themselves, shops within shops or behind shops. And each one with wonderful Egyptian glassware or Bali instruments, Celtic, Nordic, Gypsy, and, of course, many traditional Brits just showing off their wears. It's hard to put my finger on exactly what was so great about the whole experience, but it was a wonderful experience and I didn't want to leave. In part it may just be the attention you get, everyone likes you when their trying to sell you something (although even the folks that I didn't bye from were very sweet). But I think that such a great show of individual determination and entrepreneurship was mesmerizing as well (after shopping around I watched the families take the merchandise that they were selling up and down the river through sets of hand operated locks) It really feels like your buying from a person when I bye something from these merchants. Not to say, of course, that I didn't get ripped off, I dropped a lot more dough then I should have, but I wouldn't take it back if I could because it was a priceless experience.

The second thing that you must do if you come to London is go to the New Globe Theatre. As you may know, the globe is where Shakespeare performed many of his plays, as you may also know it tragically burned down. However, I replacement was reconstructed very near the original site, in as close replication as possible. Which reminds me, if you go to the globe you MUST bye groundling tickets. They're only 5 pounds and they are the best seat ... er spot ... in the house (and in my opinion the only spots worth having). They get the best view, the best experience, the most fun and mingling value and if your close enough the actors may interact with you. Anywho, I just saw Much Ado About Nothing and it was positively amazing. I'd seen it before, but not in this brilliance. And after staying in London for 4 days, the Old Engish was a blessing (I had no problem understanding any of the lines, my only problem was booking the even ... the agent kep asking for my passcode, I finally realized that she meant postcode as in address ... crazy Brits). Anywho, marvelous event definitely worth seeing and amazingly cheap for such an experience. The only downside ... you have to stand in the pit for three hours (though there is one intermission).

Anywho, like I said, definite must sees, skip Big Ben (it's just a big clock), skip the Rosetta stone (don't really, it is cool, but prioritize), skip Buckingham Palace (I haven't actually been yet) but don't you dare skip these two, they are top notch, excellent.
